Nora Kunopaski

In 2012 I felt the need to dust off my palette and rekindle my creative energy. A friend encouraged me to visit an accomplished artist in Aurora and I began the process at Sherman J. Studio under the mentorship of Judy Sherman.

I now paint regularly in oils, primarily landscapes of areas that inspire me with their beauty and, in some cases, remoteness. To my delight, I won an Honourable Mention Award for “Abandoned”, oil on canvas, at the Aurora Art Show. I have also sold some of my paintings. From the Upper Ottawa Valley to Haliburton and Canada’s East Coast, I have spent many hours totally absorbed in the creative process of painting these scenes hoping to share the beauty with others.

My husband Tony and I moved to Aurora in 1972 and raised our family here. For the past 33 years, we have operated our business in Aurora. Our children, Adam and Karen, grew up here and have stayed in the area to work and start their own business. I work at our office still, but manage to take time out to paint and spend time wth our granddaughters Abigail, 7 and Tahlia, “5 and ¾’s”, both budding artists!
